Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced, results-driven Shipping Manager to lead a high-volume outbound distribution operation. This role oversees Shipping Supervisors, Shipping Coordinators, and hourly associates while ensuring safe, accurate, and on-time shipment of customer orders. The ideal candidate is a team builder, exceptional communicator, trainer, mentor, and hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment during a critical period of operational growth and transformation.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead, coach, train, and develop Shipping Supervisors, Shipping Coordinators, and hourly employees.
• Build a highly engaged, accountable, and customer-focused team.
• Oversee daily shipping operations including order fulfillment, dock activities, freight scheduling, carrier management, shipment tracking, and shipping documentation.
• Ensure orders are shipped accurately, safely, and on time while meeting productivity and service objectives.
• Manage labor planning, workflow execution, and operational priorities to achieve daily performance goals.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on productivity, quality, cost reduction, and customer service.
• Partner with Operations, Customer Service, Transportation, and Inventory teams to resolve issues and improve execution.
• Promote and enforce safety standards, company policies, and operational procedures.
Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• 5 years of leadership experience in shipping, logistics, warehouse, or distribution operations.
• Proven ability to lead teams in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Strong knowledge of shipping processes, freight carriers, warehouse operations, and WMS systems.
• Excellent communication, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
